the recording studioWe are Stroud’s Talking Newspaper. We make audio recordings of the news and events in Stroud and surrounding towns and villages and send them out each week to blind and partially-sighted people who want to stay in touch with their local community.

Our service is entirely free!

If you, or someone you know, would like to receive our recordings each week, please contact us. Click on About us for details of our service.

New Chairman

jonathanWe're happy to announce that Jonathan Bowen-Davies (left) is our new Chairman of Five Valley Sounds. Jonathan joined Five Valley Sounds as a duplicator (which he still is) and he is also currently Chairman of The Rotary Club of Nailsworth and so is a busy but very able chap. Although now retired, Jonathan's profession life included working in the optician trade.

Jonathan takes over from Bill Hicks who has worked for Five Valley Sounds for many years in various roles including as a reader, recording technician, duplicator, secretary and chairman. A retired graphic designer, Bill also brought his skills to designing the Charity's leaflets, publicity materials, newsletters and this website.

Sadly, Bill has had to retire from the Charity because his own eyesight is failing.
